Neighborhood Snapshot #18 – West Town/Noble Square

Author- Bre Murray (PGY-1)

When I moved to Chicago from Minnesota for residency I didn’t realize how many awesome neighborhoods there were to choose from. I ultimately settled on West Town and I love it. The neighborhood is full of awesome corner bars, bookshops, and coffee shops. If you’re a dog person, you’re guaranteed to see them on your walks/runs. There are lots of brown stones, walk up to duplexes, and smaller apartment buildings.

there are lots of mom and pop restaurants and restaurants that have been around for decades. One example is D’Amato’s bakery. The best thing about living over here is the access to other parts of the city via the Blue Line. it is easy to get almost anywhere in the city in under 45 minutes via public transit.

Street parking is easy in this neighborhood, you are in close proximity to West Loop where people love to meet for happy hour and drinks. The neighborhood is definitely more expensive than some of the others we considered but we think the proximity to downtown and the vibrant restaurant/bar scene are totally worth it.
