Neighborhood Snapshot #15 – River North

Christian Roa PGY-1 Hometown: Miami, FL

I think river north is the pinnacle of Chicago city living. Me and my partner chose this area so she can walk to work, and we would have plenty to do on our days off. River north has endless bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. It’s a great place if you want to be out and about on your days off. River north is also a great central location. There are multiple bus routes at every corner and only a few blocks from the red and brown line. You can pretty much get anywhere without a car. If you are an old man at heart like me, you can just grab an iced coffee and sit at the park. Walking distance from Washington square and lakeshore park. You can easily hop on the redline North or head down to south loop or Chinatown. For my commute it’s a 1-minute drive to get on the highway and about 35 minutes in the early mornings/nights to get to Christ. I love river north it feels very alive. If you have seen the show the Bear, the restaurant is in river north!

Move in day: We were playing cat and mouse with the ticket man. I should have listened. Just get movers.

View of the city from our apartment! I mean look at this. Yes, I flexed on Instagram.

Lake front trail a few blocks east from river north. Amazing if you are into running, biking or just long walks.

Lakeshore Park! Love this place, I run laps around the track and try to play with other people’s golden doodles.

Just an artsy picture of Chicago. Ain’t she grand?

Shredding it up at Grant skatepark. Whatever your hobby is, Chicago has something for you.
